Up for sale is a beautiful Minkisi Dog figurine from the DRC and crafted in the Mid 20th Century. All pieces originate from the northern regions of the DRC. These figurines are old and a great indication to that is the Patina/fading/natural wear in all pieces. Absolutely STUNNING and in great condition.

Condition: Excellent for a Collector Item. ( Signs of aging, chips, minor cracks and damage are to be expected/seen given the age.
NKISI DOG FIGURINE
Nkisi Figurine dogs are typically crafted with single or double heads, each one facing the opposite direction. The body is always covered in nails pressed into the vessel or body of the dog with sometimes a square glass window on the center apex of the body. In traditional Congo, these were used as a form of intimidation or a way of repelling problems in life or directly from a person.
THINGS TO KNOWÂ
- Due to age and origin, Nkisi Figurines will typically have a smoke type smell due to being stored/carved in traditional smoke huts. This is normal and to be expected.

All figurines will be shipped via certified UPS Ground requiring a delivery signature. Please allow 3-4 business days for us to carefully pack and box each figurine. Shipping timeframes will vary based on location. Typical transit times range between 4-9 business days.
